Vacation in Norway, return to Oslo

This year my summer trip didn’t take me further away than Norway, but still it offered a splendid time and some views and experiences that are as good as anything you could find at far-away destinations.

I spent two weeks in Norway, with 8 nights around Stavanger and 6 nights in Oslo. I still have my bike from the previous year in Oslo, so after fetching it from Marianne, who kindly took care of it for the winter, I had full mobility in the familiar surroundings of Oslo.

Ellie and I had lots of social programme for with dinner at MS Louise at Aker Brygge, dinner party with Angel, Myriam, Alexandra and Thomas and a party at Myriams place.

During the days when Ellie worked, I went biking. On the first biking day, I went to Lysaker to see how the old office of Aker Kvaerner is being demolished. It was a strange feeling to see the building where I had attended so many meetings last year as only a shell. The second day i revisited the site of the WWII bomber crash at Hansakollen. After over 65 years, many parts of the DO17M plane are still recognizable.

Here are some pics from the Oslo days:
