Maybe the last update from this trip
A great last day in Yorkshire. Started with getting the train tickets for tomorrow and took a walk across the fields back to town (the station is miles away from the city centre). Then I went to the Herriot museum with a really great exhibit over the life of the real Herriot Alf Wight and the making of my favourite TV series. I got to sit in the Austin Seven used in the series and a biography signed by Alf’s son.
Since the weather is strangely good, I took a cab up the hills and walked the eight miles back down the hills. Spectacular views, peace and quiet. A fine pub with great bitter in Kilburn. Home in Thirsk just when the feet began to hurt (hiking in leather shoes isn’t that clever). Now at the last local pub obviously as the only tourist. But the bitter is good.
