My blog is about two passions in my life: cycling and travelling.
Cycling is by no means a big sport in my native Finland, so there is little competition in keeping track of what Finnish proffessional riders are achieving around the world. I will be commenting the season and, hopefully, add some pictures and stories about the races that I’m travelling to see.
Otherwise this is a traditional travel blog. I’ll update now and then to let my friends and family know what’s going on.

Really Cool – if the Finns can do it in distance running (i.e.; Lasse Viren, Juha Vahtainen, Pekka Vasala and of course Paavo Nurmi) they can do it in cycling! I’ve been waiting for a man with “sisu” to raise up in the ranks of cycling. Maybe Jussi’s the man!
Keep it up – I’ll be watching the results of the “flying Finns”.

I’ve been hoping that this is the year a Finn wins either a stage in a big tour or a single day race. Both Jussi and Kjell are up to it, and Jukka Vastaranta is a good outsider too.
Sorry for being so lazy updating results, I’m on a foreign assignment and for the moment without broadband at home. When I get the connection, I will do better follow-up again.
Thumbs up for Jussi in the Giro, he seems to be riding well!

Livet här har sina positiva och negativa sidor. Det är härligt med omväxlingen och att uppleva nya saker, men det är klart jag också längtar efter er vänner i Finland. Jag tror jag kommer till Finland i början och i slutet av september, så jag hör av mig då!

Hej, trevligt att se att åtminstone någon gör nåt för att hålla omvärlden uppdaterad med finsk cykling. Det är alldeles för sällan det står nåt i tidningarna eller nämns i Tulosruutu.

Det är sant att medierna inte förstår sig på cykling här i Finland. Få se vad för hjältedåd det krävs för att få dem att publicera något annat än dopning-relaterade nyheter.
Jag har litet samvetskval för att jag inte alltid hinner uppdatera, men försöker åtminstone få med det viktigaste. Som att Kjell körde utmärkt idag igen

I am having a little thought at the moment – my saddle is giving me the blisters and some people have been suggesting Brooks saddles (rather strongly so) and hence, wanted to see what you think of that…

appropriate beginning to your question!
I don’t know about Brooks saddles, but the general rule is that good cycling shorts with quality padding combined with a hardish, not too wide saddle is the best solution for long rides (contrary to the popular belief that saddles should be BIG and soft to be comfortable).
Then again, if you want a saddle that you can use with other clothing than cycling shorts, you need a more traditional saddle.
